Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a correspondent she will cover all aspects of space, from NASA as well as the new Space Force, to commercial space companies and the advent in space travel. As the daughter of two NASA astronauts, Kristin grew up in the space industry and was a part of the space industry for five years, covering the Biden and Trump Space policies of the administration as a White House Correspondent for FOX News. Kristin was also a reporter covering impeachment proceedings for the president, the 2020 Presidential campaign and efforts by two administrations to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Prior to being hired by the channel in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up in local TV news stations which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the city's CBS affiliate. Kristin utilized her knowledge in front of the camera to launch Field Mouse Films. The company was a specialist in documentary films, and became a preferred choice among corporate clients, including Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Journalism from Boston University. Kristin lives with husband, daughter, and her three-year-old son in Washington, D.C.
